About Us

The Hatteras United Methodist Charge is Buxton UMC, Little Grove UMC, and Hatteras UMC joined together in intentional ministry together serving the south end of Hatteras Island in the villages of Buxton, Frisco, and Hatteras. These churches have been joined together in ministry for many years. Through their intentional ministry together, this Charge is able to continue “making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.” At Hatteras United Methodist Churches, it is our mission to help you explore your relationship with God and improve those meaningful relationships in community.

Each church meets every Sunday.

There are also intentional discipleship opportunities held at each church on Sunday mornings and throughout the week.

Buxton United Methodist Church

  • There is an adult Sunday School class that meets immediately following the Sunday service. They are beginning a study in Job.

Hatteras United Methodist Church

  • There is a Sunday School for children in Kindergarten through 12th grade that meets every Sunday at 10 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Children are invited to explore their faith in the context of their everyday lives. It includes Bible stories and hands on activities.

  • There is a new adult Sunday School class that meets every Sunday at 10 AM in the sanctuary in front of the podium. The class rotates volunteer facilitators/ leaders as we discuss that week’s Lectionary Scriptures. The discussion is lively, meaningful friendly and deeply spiritual. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Bible Study every Wednesday morning 9:00 AM at HUMC. Call church office for more details.

Cape Hatteras United Methodist Men meet every 3rd Saturday at 8:30 am at Buxton United Methodist Church.

Buxton United Women in Faith meet every 2nd Monday at 11:00 am at Buxton UMC.

Our Prayer Ministry meets every Wednesday morning at 10:00 at Hatteras UMC.
